TOWARDS THE ABSTRACTISM AND THE FREE FLOW SERIES
I have never been an abstract artist although I always liked studying or looking abstracts. I always prefer putting the human figure in my works even if there are geometrical or abstract elements on the background.
My theory is that we are “point, line and surface”. Paraphrasing Kandinsky. So everything belongs to everything.
I have the need to think and put lines in my works. Portraits or illustrations, it doesn’t matter what I do.
Since the starting of Bookmark workshop with artist from all over the world, curating by Einat Moglad, and since the Free Flow exercise, well, something changes. I have put the feelings first rather than the thoughts. I have put myself in a “free consciousness”.
I have tried to listen properly, and being guided by the music I listen only.
No pre-thinking. Just hic et nunc action.
My abstracts are the music mixed to the colour’s pigments, starting and finishing with the album I am listening in that moment.
I put on an album and everything else happens consequently.
This is the Free Flow series. I do not now when it will be complete yet. I did not planned anything. Just get free of barrers.
The n 1 music was Rubinstein playing Chopin. The n 2 was The best of Edith Piaf. The lat one, the N.3 was a random Jazz music.
Thank you for taking the time to read this! 🙂
